Kerckhaert #3 Ssp

After bending that St. Croix #3 Lite(Plain ;) ) shoe just earlier, I decided to go for the Kerckhaert SSP #3(I think its a hind shoe?). I was going to save it for a rainy day, but decided to give it a go. Only got it to about 95 degrees, but I didn't want to push it too much. I just found out the nails have arrived for my Red nail certification. "Oldguy" from the Gripboard is going to be my judge. I better heal up soon because I am still recovering from a bummed left shoulder, the skin ripped-off my knuckles from the 5.5" red bend, the torn-off callous I just received compliments of the two shoes this afternoon, and the multiple bruises on my thighs :( I'll probably rest-up and go for the cert on Monday? perhaps. Anyway, nothing too exciting but here are the picks from the Kerckhaert:

That is a very good bend! Those are tough shoes, very stout.

Sweet bend! And good news about the cert coming up. I still haven't heard anything about getting a witness :(

Yeah, I think I am going to shot for this Monday for the cert. I have to finalize the meeting place, time, etc with the judge so hopefully all will go smoothly :)

Let me know how your progress is going.

KICK ASS CARL!!! :bow :bow :bow That's a serious shoe!!! Make no mistake, that is an elite bend even though it's not finished :rock Chris Rider gave some to Climber to use as prizes for Gripmas, of course he bent one with his hair, but the fact remains that even Rider feels those are a good enough bend to brag about and sign.

That's not a hind though, that looks like the exact same shoe I've bent. The hinds have longer legs and a different toe shape.

Thanks Zach! I will try to get this bend on video possibly today. I have the Red nail certification at 12, so maybe I'll try one after. Zach, are you familiar with the Kerckhaert SX7 shoes? If so, were do those rank on the progression of horseshoes?

I believe I bent #2 size SX7 awhile back. It was a KH for sure and it was harder than a DC of the same size and easier than a Lite. The crush was surprisingly difficult for such a small shoe.

I got an SX7 a few months ago from a horse stable down the street when I first got interested in shoe bending. I was told that it was an aluminum shoe and tried to bend it in front of my wife thinking it would be an easy bend. I failed miserably :blush:blush
