LAINE SNOOK
Hello Rex, I saw in your video that you did 6 tens, is there any specific type of plate that you have to use?? I trained today and lifted 6 tens, and then lifted 6x 5 kilo plates (66lbs total) - I have also recently lifted 4x ten kilo plates at Steve's gym (taped) - I don't do any pinching and was wondering what are classed as good levels of strength in this type of grip movement. I have some goals for 2009 - I think that they are at the limit of my abilities (which aren't that great anymore to be honest) - I hope that luck is on my side. Well done on your recent lifts - and please let me know what are considered "good" numbers on the plate pinching lifts. Best wishes, Laine

jad
Laine or Rex, I'd like to see how may 10's you guys could pinch with the inside plate a mm or 2 below the last joint on your thumb and the outside plate a mm or 2 below your uppermost/last joint on your index finger. I don't know how many plates it would take to get that far out on you guys but I don't think 8 would be out of your grasp.
pdfk20
Realistically, get back to my strength i was at my peak with grippers - closing the RB330N Then maybe before the year is up close the MM3, and #3.5 MMS, with a view to certing on the #3 possibly by end of year, or the following. There will be other goals, but need to get my strength back first.

Well done on your recent lifts - and please let me know what are considered "good" numbers on the plate pinching lifts. Best wishes, Laine Laine, No special type of plate. They are the ones you see in America at any gym or sporting good store. The important thing is finding some that fit together well, and doing that is just a happy accident. For an elite gripster such as yourself (with large hands to boot), I'd say that the following are considered good 3 25's 2 45's But the merely good feats are going to be easy for you, so you're left with the "oustanding" ones as challenges 6 10's 3 35's I've been assuming that mere deadlifts are done, but you can reach the "outstanding" level with the "good" plate set-ups, just as long as you do more than a mere deadlift e.g. 2 45's in each hand, 30' farmer's walk. Sounds like you're in the 'beyond outstanding' range as it is, so it's just a matter of turning the potential into reality. I'd be eager to hear if you can do the 3 15kg plates or 3 35's lift. Is 7 10's looking like a possibility for some on this board? New Cert maybe? -Rex
MalachiMcMullen
Rex, I told you to lift 7 10's in your 6 10's vid. Now do it and they'll make a cert just for you. Goals(not all grip, but that's a good thing ) KOAB Big Triangle G8 Stainless KOAB(I am confident enough that it is within my grasp in 09', I wont be happy with anything less than 3/8x7" 304 but the goal is 303) FINALLY deadlift 500lbs and set my eye on 3xBW(currently 555) Squat 405 Bench 350 OH strict press 280(1.5xBW, this one would be amazing) #3.5 MMS #3 TNS RED cert 2 DB Strict press 100's 2HP 200lbs Blob50 20lb lever There are more, many more, but that's all I can think of right now.
