Hercules
Hi, Could you explain the difference between two dumbells simultaneously: 1) clean & jerk 2) clean & push press My body weight is 65kg and I've just managed to clean and jerk two 32Kg dumbells(2inch thick). This was the first time I did this exercise. Do you think this weight is any good? By the way, thank you, Chris James, for the inspiration... Thanks! Guest Mark
Hercules, Simply put, both a jerk and a push press will start with a leg drive/straightening. In the push press, the weight is pressed out and the legs are not rebent. In the jerk the legs are rebent to lower oneself under the bar and there is no pressout. Hercules
Thank you Mark, I got it! So a clean & jerk is much easier... I will try to clean & push press those 32Kg! :crazy
Roark
Hercules, See the BAWLA rules in ironhistory.com, which do not allow leg thrust in the push.
