Flexor Brachialis
Hello, I have a few questions about backpressure. 1. I am not 100% sure what is meant exactly by this word. is it the movement where you pull your elbow straight backwards ? or the movement where you pull like you are doing a hammer curl? or both ? 2. How do you flex your Latissimus dorsi at the table ???? Do you keep him unflexed and your arm very close toyour body, or do you flex him like this : (back angle) http://www.nlpbodybuilding.com/images/dorian-back.jpg (front angle) http://www.muscular.in/fun/Posters/Dorian-...-Posters-26.jpg I mean this all in starting position NOT IN the fight. thanks Edited November 19, 2008 by Flexor Brachialis

Your opponent should feel the the pressure on his finger tips as if his hand is being forced open. It's not pulling your elbow backwards only as many assume. Think UP and BACK at the top of your hand on READY. Then on GO you hit your opponents fingers and go for a toproll or a low hand top roll, etc. Hope this helps. darthsith19
Like Joe said. Pulling back with your elbow is fine as well but do not increase the distance between your hand and your shoulder. Try and keep your arm as close to your body as possible.

fightertrainer
check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcEFKGjw_cY At 0:11 second you will see Farid's posting straight back. Before that was more of a sidepressure /hook then He explained the back pressure to toproll. Take me awhile to re-locate this video again
