Paul Knight
All I had to do was bend a mag A mag on the 480 stock works out to 768 sounds about right actually - if you use the 15% idea then you would come up with 839.523 for a mag and a 540 edgin at 6" would be 714.15 and a 480 bastard at 5.5 = 730.02 assuming your using 15% as a difference between each half inch just did the math Edited October 15, 2008 by Paul Knight

matthcarl
So the bending was done straight-up poundage without regard to length or actual difficulty? That does seem odd to me.

Paul Knight
I think poundage is the only way to judge , however, only when comparing the same length bar - its simply not apples to apples

HH seems to depend alot on getting your hand set just right and not having the weight "hit" too hard when the full weight is in your hands. I know Chad is good but not even him can go through 2 PB and a deck in 12 seconds. Nobody blew through that first deck so I'd question if they're weren't supposed to be some 1's in front of some of those times. Also if Nick's time is right, that's A-mazing! It only took him roughly 31 more seconds than the 3rd place guy to tear a deck vertically and remember he didn't even have his first deck opened; he had to fish it out of his pocket . dthor
Thanks for getting the results up. I wont say anything about this except, I REALLY hope you go back to the harder bar wins rules I agree with Zach. I liked the old bending rules. Much easier for those of us who don't bend much. Also calibration might show Edgins and Shiny stock to be comparable, but the Shiny is basically a stepping stone to an Edgin bend. Also there's no kink to speak of with the Shiny. nickr104
Thanks for getting up the results John. Just as an FYI; according to your poundage sheet that was at the contest, a shiny was rated higher than an Edgin. More than anything I just want to see if it ties me with or puts me over Nick, so I can jack with him at Gripmas! Josh The paper said 545 on the 7"shiny and 625 for the big shiny. I had no idea what they rate at I just went by the sheet. I don't remember where the 7" Edgins were rated at. the 1/4 Square X 5.5 was 565. If only I would of finished that Grand I did. I was a liitle more than a 1/4" over. I know Josh was close on some of his others as well. I think I beat ya fair and square Josh. I promise I didn't feat cheat. Well other than poping the phone books I bet you will wihp up on me at Gripmas. I think it would of helped you a little if you hadn't been chugging Dayquil all day from being sick. See ya at Chris's.
