Gripper42004
Has anybody heard of George Olsen?I learned about him in 1997 while I was in the hospital for bowel obstruction surgery. He is in ironman magazine may 97 issue. I was look'n for something on Big tony Scrivens & I came across this earlier today http://www.sitecenter.dk/strongman/georgeolesen/. There are other names also.I think George has the record for the one finger lift at 704lbs. :
Roark
Having a record 'verified' in Guinness, at least in regard to strength or bodybuilding (they really screw that up) is meaningless. A 704 pound one finger lift. No comment.
Tyrannosaurus Dave
Jack Walsh of Trenton, New Jersey was credited with a one-finger lift of 732, using a finger ring, back in the fifties. He was the subject of much debate on account of his claim of an unusually high back lift for a man his size, less than 200 lbs. He would be 72 now. Does anyone know if he is still around? Nathan Say
George Oleson is a big time phony. Someone put up a link to his site on DPF & everyone said that only little kids & naive women (& some guys too I guess) would believe that he can do what he claims. Jonathan McMillan
Ring size effects these finger lifts does it not? I can't remember where I read about that....a tight ring makes it a connective tissue lift and a larger ring makes it a tendon strength lift. Maybe someone can post about this in a more accurate way. Roark
If Walsh is living he would have turned age 72 on Feb 28. As of a couple of years ago I heard he was living-as I recall in New Orleans. I had an address but no phone number for him, and heard some other factors that diverted my interest in pursuing the matter.
