Guest mg6680
Got my "Big Squeeze" dumbells today. Solid 1" steel about 20" or so. The handle is ~4" and made of a fairly hard foam (or some type of soft material) with a pretty durable vinyl cover (it also rotates around the bar). They come with spring collars. $70.00 shipped from Sorinex to Oregon. I did some hammer curls, one hand deadlifts and some farmers walks with them. Its obvious the dumbells were designed for hand strength in whatever exercise you do with them. After several sets my hands were toast. I dont know how long the foam will last - we'll see. Overall, a good product that will give you strong hands and powerfull forearms if used hard.
3Crusher
I have long been touting the benefits of this item. Anything built by Richard Sorin's company is great quality, and will last a long time. My Big Squeeze dumbbells have been thrown around by some very strong hands, and have held up fine. I have had them for around two years, and they toast the hands and forearms like nothing else will. I'm glad to see somebody else on this board besides Pat, Heath, and myself have tried them. Have fun
Guest mg6680
What type of exercises do you do with them?
uber44
Stupud question does handle mean you need another bar of dumbells and slip the squeeze impliment over them, or are they a stand alone item where all u need is collars and weighis and they are set? :
Guest mg6680
All you need is standard plates. Just a dumbell w/4" semi soft grips. Sorinex.com has some photos.
Guest rockblaster
I really enjoy these dumbells. They are so much fun that you have to be careful not to overtrain with them.
KJM
How would you guys rate the big squeeze v. PDAs Turk, which has a 3" knurled handle?
Guest mg6680
I dont have a "turk" but I do have the "wrench" from PDA. If I was going to get a dumbell for heavy lifts, ie deadlifts, I'd probably buy the turk. For all-around lifting I think the Big Squeeze would be a better choice. HAMMERHEAD
I have a Turk and it is outstanding. It's pretty heavy. You could get a workout without adding weight. The quality is superior and anything over 50lbs feels very heavy. -HH
