AnimalCage
I've been wanting to try choking my PDA 343 (about a 2.7) gripper, but don't have any clamps. I tried a pipe wrench, it's only good for one rep. I found a 1 3/4" circular drill bit, and thought it may work. It was a bit small for my 343, but it fit my #2 nicely. I have others in storage, I'll try to find the right size for the 343. For the #2, it slid on and off easily, covered the spring but not the handles, and stayed on securely for multiple reps. I even tossed the gripper on the desk a few times, and the bit stayed on. Fair warning, though: With the tougher grippers, it may go from a circular drill bit to an elliptical drill bit. Bob Lipinski
Get the hose clamp. They cost around a dollar.
Incindium
I have a PDA Choker Collar which is circular Metal plate with an opening to fit over the spring. Its got a way to adjust the opening with some screws and an little square plate as well. I just leave it to where I set it originally. It chokes my #3 down to a hair below parallel and smaller wire size a bit above parallel which is just where I want it anyway.
