bencrush
http://www.speedymetals.com/default.aspx http://www.onlinemetals.com/index.cfm http://www.allmetalsinc.com/ http://www.mcmaster.com/ They differ in the prices between everything. Some of them have great Stainless and Drill Rod prices but higher CRS and HRS prices. This will give some guys hours of enjoyment. I mean that literally. I feel dirty when my wife rounds the corner and I don't have enough time to pull up the Disney website and she sees the whoreish pieces of steel staring back at her mockingly. We go to counseling now.

justiceislost1988
I'll second what Paul said. Do any of you guys go to fastenal to stare at the hot pieces of metal in the mini skirts? I've really got a crush on this 3' section of 3/8" Drill Rod there, but I don't think she likes me . Good stuff Ben hopefully the girlfriend doesn't look through my history. < Me Kinda like a mail-order bride site if you ask me . bencrush
one more thing...Is the stainless that John sells the 303 Stainless? Yes, as far as I can tell the Shinys are Stainless-303. I've never heard the "official" word from John but I've bent plenty of it to know they feel the same. Glad you guys liked the references. I was once a very loyal customer of McMaster and Speedy Metals has shipped stuff out quickly too.

bencrush
Buying bolt cutters cuts into the money you could be using to buy steel...this we all know, haha. But it's really worth it!
gazza
This might be usefull for the UK guys who need to buy steel but cannot afford the shipping charges or be bothered to wait i use all 3 sites and there great but Merseymetals is my main supplier. www.merseymetals.co.uk www.aalco.co.uk www.higsonedwards.co.uk Just type in any of the above and have a look around. bencrush
Right on Gazza. I wonder if these places ship to the States...I know it would probably be cost-prohibitive, but there might be something there a hardcore bending addict can't live without. CaptainCrush
Buying bolt cutters cuts into the money you could be using to buy steel...this we all know, haha. But it's really worth it! Do the bolt cutters make a clean cut or will I have to do some filing on them? Either way if they are worth it I'm gonna go pick me up some tomorrow since my stainless and drillrod will be here also!!
justiceislost1988
Go find a cheap Chop Saw. I want no part of Bolt Cutters unless it's for a quick cut every once in awhile when it's too late to use the Chop Saw. Bolt Cutters will ware out, it's more difficult to cut with them, and if you're picky about that little sloppy bit on the end it's no good either. The Chop Saw will need a blade replacement every 1500' of metal, (depending on what it is) you can grind the ends down perfect, fast, easy, and when you bend a lot of metal a must have. I usually just bend the bars anyway but it sure tears up the pads a lot faster that way.
CaptainCrush
I think I'm just gonna go to Lowe's and get me a cheap chop saw. My steel left UPS building an hour ago. I'm sitting here like a kid waiting for the icecream truck hoping the big brown UPS truck shows up soon!
justiceislost1988
You won't regret the chop saw at all. They are a little expensive but really they last longer than the bender. And I think we all sit and wait for steel, grippers, IM goodies, etc. I've actually cried one time cause I had to wait an extra day for my grippers . acorn
I love my chop saw. I'm on my 2nd one now, burned up the motor on the cheap chinese ebay POS. This one is a HD Rigid brand and cuts thru steel like butta. - Aaron
CaptainCrush
I just cut 3 feet of drillrod into a bunch of 4.5 inch pieces with a hacksaw. Never again! Heading to Home Depot!
bencrush
That's a heck of a grip workout right there! Damn I don't miss those days. My wife bought me a pair of bolt cutters that were way too short, but they were still better than hack sawing that stuff. Later bought the longer pair.
