knowledgeseaker
hello! i had a question on exercise i been doing to try and get stronger in armwrestling. what i do is take a dumbell and kneel before a bench press and get into the arm wrestling position. i take the dumbell and lower my hands slowly in the motion as you would when you are beating someone and i slowly bring my hand up in the starting position of an arm wrestling match. my question is this good exercise? or is useless. sorry for my english im new to the language. darthsith19
I don't think that's what he is talking about. I think I know what he means, I have never done that. If I understand correctly, you're pulling up on the dumbbell, the opposite direction as you would pull in an armwretling match, so I don't see how it would help, but then again, I don't know. And, your English was good. Edited July 6, 2008 by Josh H
mightyjoe
If you are lowering the weight as when you are beating someone, it would not benefit your arm wrestling. Curling a DB up off ht etable to the starting position would benefit your pull and your hold. IMO, surgical tubing (cables) are much more effective by a long shot. LifeLine cables are hard to beat because they won't break from constant use because they are dipped in polyurethane when processed. They last for years and they offer different resistance levels. Each color represents a certain amount of resistance. Hope this helps, Stay Strong!!! Mighty Joe

kyle102887
http://www.excelstrength.com/images/photo9.jpg I do that with the rolling thunder. But I lock the wrists in a slightly curled position to stress them a lot during the exercise.
