Apollon feat question

Anyone know how thick the bars on the tempered iron grate apollon supposedly bent one time. Anyone know the approximates of what kind of grip strength this would took, is this the greatest feat of strength ever? From what I've read it took the man to the his limit as the normally easy bars for him were tempered accidently by a blacksmith to the strength just sub par of steel.

champs,

Apollon transported these bars from town to town,

bent them at many performances as his opening act,

and had a blacksmith straighten them before the

next performance.

I have never come across any specifics. Since he

fit his huge body through the bars to escape those

[actors] chasing him, we may surmise that the bars

were probably all vertical except where attached at top and bottom. Horizontal bars would have lessened the area for

him to squeeze thru, and would have increased the strength

of the bars horrendously.

Diameter, length, width of the grate etc are all facts I

have never encountered. Have never seen a photo of them.

ah ok, thanks for the response, I know the bar trick was a standard opener for his act, was refering to the specific incident where the bars were accidently tempered rather than just being beaten back into shape making them far harder than normal, the effort of bending these particular bars drained him such that he almost collapsed on stage afterwards and had to call off the rest of the show (relevant only because it seems to be the only time apollon had to fully extert himself, thus applying his maximum effort). Shame no firm figures for these bars could be determined, I wonder how a feat like that would stack up against todays strength athlete's.

The bar bending was probably just a dramatic stunt in his strongman act. I pay more attention to his lifts with block weights, dumbbells, and of course his axle.
