There is no "right" and "wrong" way to close a gripper; only the way which you favour most, and which works best for you. Having said that: try moving the gripper up so only 50% of your little finger is in contact with the handle, that sems to work better for a lot of people.

Okay thanks, i tried that and it makes it a little easier.

now what form would i use lets say if in a couple years i wanted to get certified for closing a #3 are there different form rules.

Go to www.farmstrength.com, click on articles, and read Heath's article on "Closing Big Grippers." He covers form very well.
