Roark
Next week Wannagrip will receive a photo showing an Inch replica 152 pounder, an Inch replica 172 pounder, and a Millennium bell. The three bells are in the same photo. One is silver, one black, one green. Hopefully he will have time to post it if the server transition is going well. It will be obvious that the silver bell is the Millennium. But which is the 152 pounder, the green, or the black? I shot the photo- that's the ONLY reason I know! OldGuy
The green one is the 152 pounder.
Roark
Sight unseen, you are guessing? We will see if you maintain that position.
OldGuy
Just a hunch the original was black, the replicas are black. So why not paint the lighter one green to tell it apart. Of course people can paint things any color they like.
Sybersnott
It is green. I have seen a pic of the original Inch (black), and a pic of the Millennium bell (silver). That leaves the color green as the only choice left over! :p
Roark
These are my bells and I have done some painting, so forget what others you have seen.
OldGuy
Are you trying to be as furtive as Thomas Inch was with his dumbbells? No doubt using a color code that you change to suit yourslf whenever there is a danger that someone might lift them. Why are they not painted red amber and green out of your love for stop lights? Roark
Stop lights have different colors?
OldGuy
To take this even further, are we going to read in 25 years time how Joe Roark used to juggle those same dumbbells on his back porch every day? This daily event mysteriously not captured on film.
mobsterone
My Millennium bell is Silver, Alan Radley painted his gold and I have no idea what Mr Wood has doen - they were delivered with Grey Primer. He, he. Hope that helps Joe
OldGuy
Steve, on the board called Diesel Power Forum, interest has been shown in your millenium dumbbell.
mobsterone
I'll look ta
Roark
Steve, What is the cost to buy a single MB and have it shipped to America? Cost for two? Have you found a distributor for America?
mobsterone
I'd have to get a quote etc but I would say you wouldn't see much change from £600.00. I sold three to Kim Wood and the shipping alone was £160.00. I could do the same deal again - three bells for the same price $2000.00 (subject to the foundry confirming a similar price to last time. I was trying to do a deal with Atomic but that seems to have fizzled out. Any other names?
Roark
Perhaps you could post to whomever is seeking one, and they will know where to buy one.
mobsterone
I've responded on the forum - I might email them to have a look. Steve
Roark
When I saw Kim's MB's on Sep 8th they were still the color that you shipped, Steve. OldGuy: Because I am not co-ordinated, I must toss the bells higher to allow more reaction time. I had my brother-in-law snap photos of me juggling the bells, but now, he is denying even being there that day, if you hear what the Roark is cookin'
OldGuy
Joe, do you have any plans to take your nicely painted dumbbells on a 50 state tour, to give as many people as possible an opportunity to try both an Inch replica and the millenium? Roark
No tour. There is the minor problem of lifting them into my van. My wife's not always willing to do that. ???
