My little brother now works for Queen City Railroad and is a spiker operator. He told me that he pulled some spikes out of some old ties that were dated. He said he pulled two that was in good shape, they were from 1931 and 1944. Would this be the same quality of metal used in some of the railroad spike benders of the past? I am going to have him bring me some old ones when he come in again.
