Brass Rb260

I've just ordered a Brass RB260 and it should be with me by Friday, I can't wait to try it!

I ordered it as a #2.5 to #3 bridge gripper, I hope I close this thing first time!

Does anyobe here have an RB260 and do you think it's around a #2.8?

Cheers

RBs, like every other grip vary but I've tried two 260s and both were harder than most #3s. The first one I tried felt like a a very stiff #3 and the second one calibrated in the 170's. Most #3s calibrate in the 150s.

Isn't the 260 harder than a 3? My 210 and 240 cal'd at 140lbs so that puts them at 2.83.

Oh yeah, the brass handles for some reason make the grippers "feel" tougher... at least to me :D

Sounds beautiful. Will the spring be dark or chromed? Who did you order it from; Fat Bastard Barbell?

Don't own an RB260 but my RB210 And RB240 are between my #2.5 and #3, with the RB210 being just over the #2.5 and the RB240 being just under the #3. I think you'll find the RB260 will be harder than a #3.

It'll give you something to aim for once you've shut your #3! ;) ...and you can never have too many grippers. :D

Calibrations have shown that RB260's can be harder or easier than average #3's. Also they get much easier than they are at the beginning. Pretty much more as BB's or CoC's actually.

My RB260 is definitely harder than my #3, if you were looking for a gripper in between the 2.5 and 3 a RB210 or 240 would have been better, but you can never have too many grippers :D

There are also mutant RB240's that are certainly a lot harder than #3's.. :whacked

Oops, looks like I've ordered the wrong gripper! I placed the order with Stan from intense fitness, he's a really cool guy. He recomended that I go for an RB300 if I wanted a gripper around the #3 level, so I went for an RB260 thinking it's be around a #2.8! If it's to tough then I'll just have to use it for negs :blink I've gone for a Brass handles and a chrome spring ;)

Ok I'm going to call Stan and order an extra gripper, so would most of you go for an RB210 or RB240 for a twennie between the #2.5 and #3?

Cheers

I have 2 RB260s, both very good grippers. One is like an old easy #3, and one is a bit harder than a hard 3. You might want to hold off and see how the 260 you get feels.

Also, a bit off topic, but the HG300 might help out also.

Cheers. I have 2 HG300's 1 of them I can close but the other feels like a brick, it'd say it's at least a #3.5 in feel. It's way way harder than any #3 I've tried! HG's vary huh!!

I'd agree with Dave, try out the 260 and see how it feels, then order another as needed. How easily can you close the 2.5? If very easily than a 240 would be better, if it's a struggle get the 210.

Oh and as to the HG300s, they have a VERY tough sweep but an easy close because they don't load up at the end. My HG350 feels like a BRICK, but Aaron siad it was about a 3.0 because the crush is easy.
