the swiss Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 been training with my homemade kettlebell (which has a 3' handle and weighs about 24kg) and I must say I'm impressed with the way the grip is worked out! I have seen improvement in my bending already (in a very short amount of time), because of the wrist-stabilizing strength needed. Also, the ballistic moves (snatches, swings) really hit my hands hard, and grip is the limiting factor with the bells (for me and with this weight), because of this 3' handle. I would say it is a must for grip strength-endurance (what a pump). try them train hard david Quote
underdawg Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 david, how did you make your kettlebell? Quote Real Name: Jonathan Creason Arise...kill...eat... --Acts 10:13
the swiss Posted September 18, 2002 Author Posted September 18, 2002 I simply attached a 3' PVC handle to a weight (a dumbell for example). I can do most of the kettlebells drills with it. what you want to get is a weight which will still exert pressure on the wrist (trying to bend it backwards) a the top of say a snatch movement. david Quote
