Pedro06
Hello, after reflection I told why not to try a cycle which works there to powerlifting on the grip. For bench I do this cycle and work very good for me: week 1: start with 70% 3set every set : failure -1 (ex: if failure at 15reps, i do 14reps) week 2: 70% +5kgs (for grip perhaps +2.5 or 1.25kgs) 3set failure -1 week 3: 70% +10kgs 3 set failure -1 ......when I'm failure -1 for 3reps (so 4rm) i begin again with the new 70% In this cycle we work a wide reps range (generaly at 70% we can do 12/15reps and finish with 3reps) and never failure just the last workout. Adaptation to the RT: Ex: i do 200lbs RT max i do RT twice a week workout 1: 140lbs for 3set failure -1 workout 2: 145lbs 3 set failure -1 workout 3: 150lbs 3 set failure -1 4: 155lbs 3 set failure -1 5: 160... 6: 165... 7: 170.... 8: 175... 9: 180... 10: 185... 11: 190lbs now we do just 2set 12: 195lbs now we do just 1set but failure and normally we can do 3 at 4reps on maxi -5lbs On 6 week Now begin again with maxi +5lbs (205) so in the next 6week we can do 3 at 4reps on hold maxi (200) on 12week. The progress maybe increased or decline following the evolution of each in the cycle What do thing about this cycle? I will try it on the RT and 2H pinch and I shall see if we work or not. Bob Lipinski
You can try it, but I don't think it will work well. The thing is that grip is much less intensive and you can recover from it much better. Give it a shot though, if it works it works! I have been wrong before. unequipped
... benchpress/powerlifting-results does not say anything abou the grip-abilities. I am hooked in grip-sports only for 2 month, and so I am a very fresh beginner. I was a 500+ lbs unequipped-bencher, and right now I can press about 460 lbs, but I had never, never, never a chance, to close a coc1, when I started crushing (hand = 8 inch). Right now I have the same problems with the coc2. I think, trainingsroutines for benchpress are very different, but try your program. You have it to do by try and error. Pedro06
Thank you for your answers, It was a supposition I had said myself if that works for one maybe that would work for the other.
