Roark
My wife Geni and I visited Kim Wood this past weekend. He has, in my view, the best home gym imaginable: a veritable circus mixture of sandbags, antique weights, and modern iron- each piece selected for its history or its usefulness. Kim is ever alert to what WORKS regardless of its origin or company name. I had occasion to clean and jerk the Millennium bell. I had occasion but not the strength. That mama is heavy! Makes the Inch seem like a toy! Also got to feel one of the lighter Inch replicas, and when I later placed it on a scale it weighed 152 if I stood it on end, or 158 if I placed it across the scale- so I need to try a different scale. Anyway a fun weekend with one of the true thinkers in our sport, and a chance to have sand kicked in my face by the Millennium bell! John Wood, as you have seen, has stood holding a Millennium bell in each hand- a level of strength I can only write about using great imagination and awe. (or was it one bell at a time, John?) John Wood
Thank You Joe, I havent, as yet, had a chance to even attempt to hold a Millenium in each hand simultaneously but at some point I will, most likely next winter. I have stood with one in one hand, placed it down on a high platform and then stood with it in the other though. I have not trained my grip for about a month now because my hands have taken such a pounding from football. Curiously, even though I cant duplicate many grip feats at the present time that I could easily do before the season started, I have been able to close the #3 for five or six singles each day. This is very surprising to me as I said above, I have had no grip training for a month and my hands are , at any given time, in various states of being sprained, bruised etc. In any case, I hope you had a good time and look forward to talking to you in the future. If anyone has any questions, pm me. Carry on. -JW
Roark
John, Your dad took us to his favorite ice cream place, and even you would not have sufficient strength to have broken my grip and taken it from me. I was hoping you would have been home, but of course your football demands prevented it.
