verdigriz
Just like to say thanks to Dave and James for organizing the comp and Webby? for record keeping, was an awesome day out and a great learning curve! A real highlight for me was finally getting my hands on a euro pinch set up (and FBBC Vbar), its unfortunate theres not more down under cause with a few months training on it, you would have seen several of the guys yesterday hit over the 80k mark easily imo, 70k was easy, 80k hovered and bumped a few times but ultimately sat there glued, lauginng cruelly at weak thumbs Overall, top day, top blokes, top prizes and a top venue. Looking forward to the next comp and guys....when the vids come out, watch out for the pom, earplugs are required but id pay to see it again Brendan Edited March 2, 2008 by verdigriz

james_grahame
Dave, ...my GB name is, james_grahame. I did not waste much imagination on it For some reason I can never log in to the GB from home...it always says I am not a valid user...pesky computers ... so I tend to lurk here...rather than post
tdbas1
Hey, It was awesome to compete again, and compare results from the last competition. Good to see I have slowly improved. Thanks James and Dave for organizing and Ian for scoring and to all the other competitors. Will see you all at the next comp. Take care Tom

boofis
Man that Troy Roberts nailed the Farmers Hold ...hate you dave
gripmaniac
That Troy Roberts was the youngest & lightest competitor . . . and did really well on the day. Plenty of potential there IMHO. If it's any consolation I couldn't lift the Farmer's bars at the last comp Thank goodness they were on tyres this time! Dave
james_grahame
Also worth saying that the farmers bars had 1.5" handles and NO knurling.

Also for those that dont know, Chris Moore, aged 45, who hasnt competed in over 14 years, is the same Chris moore who use to compete with Dave Horne in the IAWA, who has lifted around 83kg in the 2hand pinch whiile he weighed in at around 72kg. Congrats on being the current aussie 2HP record holder Dave!!! gripmaniac
It is with the deepest regret that I advise . . . .I didn't record the Farmers Hold event I will try to do Chris's lift justice in the write-up Damn I wish I had of recorded it. . . .it was . . .certainly something to behold
David Horne
It was a suprise to me to hear that Chris was in Australia, and that he was going to compete in this comp. He rang me up and we had a good chat. He's a very enthusiastic - great lad, and I'm pleased he's found the platform again. He'll get used to the events (a lot has changed since then), and start to improve. Good luck to all. David
gripmaniac
One things for sure - Chris certainly gives 100% with every attempt. Great stuff! His best effort of 69.68kgs on the Euro Pinch was mighty impressive. Dave

And on the way home both my kids were grinding their teeth mimimg éasy''...too funny All I can say about the vbar lift is the scales got the worst deal of the comp!
