Thick Db Using Lead?

Hey I got a big bucket of lead, like 100 pounds or so and have been thinking of trying to make a big monster dumbell to play around with, 150#, and 2.5" thick or so. Solid, "inch"-like, but obviously not the real deal. I was thinking I could melt the lead and fill coffee cans, 2 of them should be in the range for weight I guess. Then my problem is the handle. I think I can make this thing but I know there are alot of real gifted gear makers on a budget around here, so I figured it would pay off to ask.

If I was going to do that I'd probably get some heavy duty steel pipe and weld on some end caps. Melt your lead, fill it up, then cap the other end. Weld on a 2.5" piece of pipe and your done. Maybe drill and tap a small hole on the outsides for adding more shot?

Ask John at Fatbastards Barbells to make you a shot load dumbbell and use the lead you have to fill it with save your self some time and start training
