Guest Lee
Hi David, I read an old topic that you said you can lever 35 1/4 lbs on a 31 inch wooden bar. Is that levering from floor to front or to rear ? How much weight do you lever from floor to front with that bar ? Lee.
strongmitts
I've also got a question for Mr. Horne. How is he so good in all different hand/wrist lifts? I tend to concentrate on 3-4 main lifts in a routine right now and I can't imagine doing more. Do you specialize in 3-4 lifts at once or do a vast array of lifts all the time? Whatever the case may be, Mr. Horne is a true all around grip athlete.
David Horne
Lee, The 35 1/4lb mentioned is lowering the bar to my head at arms length (sledgehammer style). This was done in 1994 when I was practicing this feat. strongmitts, Thank you for your kind comments. My training programmes change every 12-16 weeks. Each routine will usually feature maybe 7-10 differing grip events in. If I have a contest or record event then the exercises will be chosen for this purpose. Otherwise I will usually train on my weak points or just train on a general strengthening routine. I have really enjoyed training on many feats over the years, it keeps the enthusiasm high. This is a reason I change the events each year for the grip contest. David
Guest 115-1005574997
since training with Dave and going to 12 week grip 'cycles' adding a few move movements ive seen a real improvement in my own strength. But dont forget you need to be a strong man with a good grip so dont neglect deadlifts and squats So bung in 3 sets of 20 squats if you want to be REALLY good
