I was hoping to have lifted the blob by now but the best I have done is 6" off the floor twice. :angry: My gripper training is progressing. I really enjoy the blob/blockweight workouts. I had not done any hub training for a couple of weeks so last night I taped part of my workout.

Nice hubbing Mitch! I wish I could say I haven't hub lifted in awhile and still comeback with a 50lb hub lift/55lb IM hub lift!

Mitch, I would guess all you need is to get yourself really psyched up to fully DL the blob. Imagine yourself in the life and dead-situation and lift. That's sometimes good for breaking PR's. Not something you want to do every time though, but you could use that as a way to shake the beast off your back, if you know what I mean. :)

Thanks guys. I really want to get that blob50, TNS my #2 and CCS my #2.5!!! I built myself a 1.9" thick bar to start training the DO deadlift. I pulled somewhere around 350 at the gym DO but that was with an olympic bar. Teemu, I know what you mean . It is so mental. I try and tell myself to push my thumb through the cast and this helps me. I know I will get it, but when I am not sure.

I've been told that cleans and clean pulls with the axle are awesome of increasing your DO DEADLIFT!!!.

Thanks! I wish I could same the same :dry I have "Nothing I do is good enough for me" syndrome :rolleyes

Tell ya what though, I'd love to see you compete! Nevermind you not being a #3 closer, grippers are only 1 event. The way you play with those hubs and the fact you've even pulled the blob off the ground, nevermind how far from lockout, shows you have some pretty darn good thumb strength! You've got a passion for strength to it seems which is more important than strength IMO. Good luck with that blob and to your future axle work :rock
