Gripper training

Just wondering how many guys train their grippers while using their free hand to support the gripper hand? I know to be certified that you can't do this but do some of you guys do this while training. I do but do others?

I find that this really helps me and I will utlise this method when trying to close a hard gripper that I am training towards.  Once I can close it while supporting my wrist with my free hand, I know that a full, unassisted closure is not far away :).

I agree with you Jim, I like to support for a harder gripper. Hopefully when I go to unsupported I'll be right around where I need to be.

When I've tried supporting my hand it didn't help me that much. I also felt that it gave me a little false hope knowing that the rep i did while supported didn't even count and that i'll have to do it again with no support.

I like to support my closing hand if I cant close the gripper otherwise.  I feel it helps improve my grip strength in sort of the same way as a negative by letting my hand get used to more pressure.

How exactly do you position your hand when you're using it for support? I have never done this before, but it sounds like it might be interesting to try.
