Hazerboy
Following some advice I found on Eric's bending page, I bought a 50 pack of 1/4 x 6'' carriage bolts to bend for volume (didn't have packs of 25). After that I'll buy some 5.5 ones too. I noticed when I got home, however, that they're zinc and not steel. Will these be way to easy? Should I return them? I haven't bent anything in awhile so I'm kind of "stocking up" before I go to college. Before I went on a brake the best thing I remember bending was the blue nail and some hard 60Ds. ox3782
I would think they are more than likely zinc plated and not solid zinc.Try bending one and see I think solid zinc would snap.I have never seen solid zinc bolts. Brendan
Autolupus
Yeah, don't worry man, you're still bending steel, they'll be zinc plate(galvanised), there's plenty stronger metal to test your mettle!
Hazerboy
Well it didn't break, so I'm assuming it must be zinc plated. Does that mean its weaker/stronger then regular steel though?
Autolupus
Nope, just means it's covered in zinc!
