terryduty Posted July 26, 2002 Posted July 26, 2002 I just put up a page on my web site (http://home.insight.rr.com/strongman/) that I called "Taining Devices". This page includes some of the devices that I've thought up over the past year to assist my grip training. Here's an example of what's there: Quote
Guest Harlan Jacobs Posted August 14, 2002 Posted August 14, 2002 Strongman, I have actualy done the handel extensions. I used pvc pipe. I like the one for time holds. maybe with a light that goes off or on when contact is broken. Quote
terryduty Posted August 15, 2002 Author Posted August 15, 2002 Harlan, using a back-lit clock face will give you the light that shines when the handles make contact to verify that you closed the gripper. Train ingeniously! Quote
Guest Uberman Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 Those are cool ideas Strongman. I have an idea to run by you, you know more about metal than me. I am working on closing the #4 and was wondering if I could have a small ring welded onto the bottom of each handle, without A) heat ruining the spring and B) if you could weld onto the stainless handles. Purpose being- hold the gripper down by leg, so it is horizonal, attach a cable to finger side run it up thru palm side then down to a weight. Close gripper as far as possible then DL the weight to help close gripper. Then use less and less DLed weight. I have been trying different ideas to get gripper in the almost closed position so I can concentrate on that section. My hands are good and strong in the more open postion probably from thick grip stuff, but have a real gap of strength on the close. Have tried various stuff to try and keep gripper to only open about a 1/2 inch but all have failed so far. Mike Quote
