aeroman Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I decided to try making some adjustable block weights for tossing around. I took my standard 10lb, 5lb and 1 1/2lb plates and bolted them together with 3/4" diameter bolts, nuts and washers. I bought three bolts: 7", 5" and 3" and interchange them with spacers between the plates for different widths. I can use as little as 20lbs and have the plates about 6" apart or use more weight with various widths. The nuts, bolts and washers cost about $7.00. I already had the standard plates. When I tighten down on the bolt it feels like a solid single weight in my hand. Give it a try if you haven't already thought of it. bentpresser Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I did the same thing using plates and duct tape, and it is effective - you're right. Quote
superfeemiman Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Good idea! Did the same thing using a loading pin. You could make it wide by adding 2.5's in the middle.
