Tyrannosaurus Dave
Today I cleaned a pair of 25 lb. plates for the first time, 2 singles right hand, and finally on the third try, left hand. I want to thank everyone on the board who has carried on the conversation about plate curls, because that is what got me here. (This is my first new topic, I hope I don't foul it up.) Nathan Say
You do them with a pinch grip, right? I have to use my free hand to cover my face/head in case they slip. Sometimes I go outside onto the lawn where I don't have to worry so much about the plates or the floor getting messed up.
OldGuy
I have been cleaning plates all my life. I never leave any food on them.

Tyrannosaurus Dave
Reply to Nathan: yeah, pinch grip, smooth sides out. I've been trying to do this since I was a teenager, but anytime I shouldered them, the two plates always fell in different directions. You really have to concentrate to keep pinching them after you catch them, otherwise, like you say, you get a cast-iron facial. It never occurred to me to take it outside. Thanks.
