Variations in hands dynos?

Is there a way to convert measurements from one grip/hand dynamometer to another? Why do the crush-motion dynos give different measurements anyway? Would they have different hardness at different closing distances (like grippers), meaning really hard at the beginning & not so hard at the end of the close, or the other way around? It seems like there has been no standard dyno that everyone has used.

Nathan,

I have many styles of dynamometers and most will give differing readings. This is possibly due to the different shapes, widths, etc.
