Rust Effects Strength?

Hey guys, bent a G5 bolt last night, it had a 5 degree 'whobble' in it from a previous attempt weeks ago so I thought id give it another shot and it melted relatively easy reverse style. It seemed a little too easy and my thoughts are maybe the rust that had built up on it somehow made it weaker? I just left this bolt outside cause it pissed me off so much when I just wobbled it, what do you guys think? I didnt try another fresh bolt as I was pretty tired from doing other stuff before.

I doubt the rust had much if any effect. I bet you just got stronger.
