greenBuddah
Hi, today after I had some trouble with my middle finger tendon, I started grip training, and the grippers didn't run well (failed twice on Rb300), so I decided to do some mixed training. I came up trying to tear my first full 52 card poker deck. I tried it the way Flo did in his video (not smoking the deck in some 5 seconds like he did) and after 5 attempts it was torn. I'm now working on getting some speed, and do it in one attempt. Pics are in gallery. Edited February 18, 2007 by greenBuddah
GatorGrip
Way to persist until the job was finished and now you know you can actually do now work on getting faster.

amaury
I read "tore my first pec". Thought it was Vache posting on the gripboard. Just kidding. Congrats!!
MaverickBU
Cool man! I just tore my first phone book recently, so this type of stuff is very interesting. Do you have a link to the video you referenced that showed you how to tear the deck?
greenBuddah
thx to all No as I said it took 5 attempts and >5 minutes so I did not shoot a vid. I actually did not even expect to rip it. But the technique I used, was much more powerful than the one I used to use. But I will definately do so when I can tear it in on attempt. You mentioned that "Flo" performed your technique in a video. Could you give me the link to that video, if its available?
honk
Congrats! Flo putting hurt on a deck of cards
Crotchulla
Holy crap. I have never seen that vid of Flo. Very quick. GreenBuddah, what style did you use before? I used to use Flo's top/bottom grip but it usually took me awhile to rip a deck. I switched to Roger's technique and got close to a whole deck my first session, and quick. greenBuddah
I grabbed the deck the same but went down with one arm bracing against a leg. What is Roger's style like?
Florian Kellersmann
Good work, greenbuddah. You just accomplished another nice feat of grip strength
Crotchulla
Roger's style is: Left hand holds the cards like it's a thick bar (wrapped around pretty much as good as you can) and the Right hand holds from top position if you were holding the cards in front of you. You pull up with the right hand and hold tight and try twisting down with the left hand. Try to find a clip or two of Dennis Rogers. He always rips cards the same way.
