Roark
A friend of mine has opened a health food store and is thinking of borrowing my Inch replica as a promotional gimmick to draw customers or the curious and get some publicity. This is not a sure event but I wanted to give notice to those of you near Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, so in case you want to wrap your hand around the handle, you can come by for a try. There are some legal (liabilty) issues, but if it happens I'll let you know in time to make the drive, and in time for me to farmer's walk the bell to his store... Roark
No replies? Does this mean no one in this area is interested in feeling an appreciation of what Mark Henry did, or does it mean something else?
Nathan Say
It's because I'm nowhere near there.

Tyrannosaurus Dave
Didn't know you wanted a headcount of who would show up. Let us know when the date is...I'm only 2 hours away, if its not a bad weekend (meaning already scheduled by the "ball and chain"). I'd love to roll the thing around the floor. Roark
It may end up being this fall when the students come back to campus. I was thinking if there was no interest among board members, there would be no point in doing it, but I will give plenty of warning if it happens. Because it will be happening in a store, we must ask that after you get it overhead, you lower it under control, please.
Guest reid73
Im not so much worried about the clean but when I go to snatch it for reps I may not be able to control it after the 10 or 11th rep ..Is there a parking lot near where we could got to snatch it. Roark
reid73, Yes, please ask Prowse whatever happened to the Inch practice handle that he got from Reg Park at the same time he acquired the Inch 172. Reg told me that both were sent to Prowse. Also, ask if any photos of him lifting the Inch are available. Thanks James.
AnimalCage
Joe, I would be interested in simply seeing an Inch replica in person. I'm in Indy, about 2 hours away. I'll be happy if I simply roll the thing!
OldGuy
Ask Prowse if he still thinks he is Darth Vader !
Nathan Say
He's said that he wants to be if he's still in decent shape by next summer. He's getting ready right now.
Roark
I spoke to the owner of the health food store, who is speaking with a lawyer. If liabilty can be solved, the event will probably be when the students return to campus this fall- so keep training. There have been people who have tried my replica and make statements such as "Oh, I just about had it off the floor". Translation: "I did not have it off the floor". Thomas Inch had trouble speaking out of only one side of his mouth. First he said that the bell NEVER left the floor, then he gave awards for the best effort! Which is it? How does one judge best effort if height raised is zero? Best grimace, best yell, best moan?
Guest Harlan Jacobs
I am in Indy. I would like to give it a shot !
Guest reid73
Well I talked to Prowse today ..and he stated that he still had the training handle given him by Reg Park ..though he didnt know where ..he said it was up in his loft somewhere. As foe pics of him lifting it he said that there where none that he knew of..he did claim to have shouldered it but did not put it overhead..he also claimed the Lou Ferrigno ( he was also at the convention)cleaned it and sometimes did one armed rows with it,evedently he and Prowse are good friends and Lou spent three months living with Prowse ..I took a pic with Lou but didnt ask him about the inch ..the man is freakin huge his hands where 5 times the size of mine :0 James
Roark
Thanks, James. Ferrigno cleaned the Inch? One handed? And one arm rowed it?
Guest reid73
Actually what prowse said was that ferrigno shouldered it ...I had clean on my mind from another post ....but yes he did say that he did rows with it :0 I think it is very believable the Ferrigno could have lift the inch bell ....even know is size and obvious strength(he looked strong ..not just big like some bodybuilders)and the size of his hands he has very long fingers and while his hands are thick they are not thick in relation to his fingers. OldGuy
Dave Prowse is a paid after dinner speaker and teller of tall tales. I would take anything he says with a grain of salt.
