Guest Harlan Jacobs
Well, For a long time , I have wanted to try the Thomas Inch and with all the talk about it lately I decided I would start doing overhand deads to train for it. I think I read that David's contest will have this as an event. I am using a 2 1/2 " diameter bar. I know I am not in a contest , but just so I will know, I did mine sumo style. Is that leagle in a contest ? This is my first time doing these. Not very good for the ego ! I am not a big deadlifter anyway, but man these are tough ! JeffPeterson
What were you able to get on a 2.5 inch bar. I just got a bar almost that size and wonder what others are getting. I deadlift conventional. I can only get about 290.
Guest Harlan Jacobs
Jeff, WEll , first off I need to correct myself. I was told it was 2.5" . I check it today and it's only 2.375 ". I went,135,225.275,295,315,335,and missed 345. I know by some of the standars of some guys on the board this is nothing but a warm up. But I was happy with it for my first time. I feel that if I can get to about 370 I should be able to give the INCH a respectable try.
