SShafley Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 (edited) This was reposted from the P&B. I thought it was a neat little idea. Bill, you can no longer say I never contributed anything to the Gripboard. My apologies if something like this has been posted before I was struck by an idea today, involving the "lightened" method of band use, and blob lifting. Maybe this could be useful to someone here. I thought it was nifty enough to try out and take some pics. That is only ~ a 25# blob. You can adjust the tension by using different bands or putting the band on different heights, or whatever other creative ways someone can think of varying it. Basically I took a jumpstretch band, looped it through the pins in my power rack, and put the blob on one of the sections of band. I don't remember ever hearing anyone talking about trying this, so, maybe I can call it "Shaf's Lightened Blob Method." Heh. O The Hubris! Edit: Not sure how picture posting works here on the Gripboard, so I'll have to provide some external links: The P&B post with pics: http://powerandbulk.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17443 The pics from Imageshack: http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00048hw2.jpg http://img293.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00049xn7.jpg http://img293.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00050ok6.jpg Edited December 5, 2006 by SShafley Quote
SShafley Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 I was told Rick Walker has posted similar thoughts on the same kind of topic, so I'm way behind the curve (3 years or so). I thought it was a spiffy idea, anyway. Quote
Teemu I Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Maidenfan told me about it too a few months ago, he said it helped him a great deal. Here's the picture. I think it is a great idea, whoever thought about it first. Quote Teemu Ilvesniemi, Finland My Blog
climber511 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 An oldie but a goodie - Steve. Works great with 2-45s etc also - just put a pipe in them and a band on each side under the pipe and pull away. Scott Styles Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 When the wife's not around, I use our bedroom mattress. Just bounce the blob a little to get the needed assistance. Quote You don't get a dog and do the barking yourself.
Anuwbius Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Yeah mattress assisted lifting! I still get the best feeling from this. Quote My Gallery Ethan Wolf, CSCS
