mwinsl01
Last week I was doing smooth negatives with my hg 300 2.4 spread. Last week I was able to close my hg 250 with both hands, so I figured it was time to try a harder gripper for negatives. I think a hg 300 is about 230 -250 pounds of pressure to close but when you close you are at the outer handle so I would think you are closing about 200 pounds of pressure for negatives? I have a ivanko super gripper and set it at 2,4,10 which states 212 pounds of pressure for an inner grip. Is this about the poundage I should try for on my ivanko super gripper for smooth negatives or should I set it at a different level, I have 3 springs for it. the hardest setting i can close for smooth negatives is around 4,6,8 at 219 pounds of pressure for 3 sets.
