Brzenk
I think most are genetically gifted with only so much fast twitch and slow twitch fibers. With strength training I think you can strengthen the amounts you have. I think heavy low reps is what most do to develope fast twitch fibers. Hand strength helps negate those hard hitting sprinter types.
TomY
With rubber tape I don't quite understand you Pawel, unless you mean a bicycle inner tube or something. Florian Kellersmann
How would you develop speed? And how can you defend yourself from being hit quickly?Tom John is right when it comes to speed strength training. For the training and practice of the start from the "ready go" and your reaction here is an advice from Malin Bergström to speed training from WorldofArmwrestling : "Train your speed by letting one of your armwrestling-partners be a referee, the one that you are pulling against shall not pull, just hold you in the start, and hold a little bit, not too much after the start. When the ”referee” says "ready go", you should try to win as fast as possible without the other person holding you too much. " To defend myself from beeing hit quickly I concentrate on my wrist and my hand before the start. A very small movement (curl) of the wrist (that you can perform very quickly, because it's small) can bring you in a safer position. kyle102887
Play video games.... I know it sounds dumb. But you get a good First person shooter or a similar type game that forces you to react in a split second or it's game over. It really ups your reaction time. So then all you have to do is just react on ready go.....
