JeffPeterson
I noticed that a couple of my grippers are starting to get a real thin patch of rust. It wipes off with a rag so it has ruined the grippers but how can I prevent any future rust spots. Shoul I spry the springs with WD-40? Guest
Yip -WD-40 will do it. O, don't use them in the bath. he-he-he Johann
Tou
WD-40 dries pretty fast. You'd have better results with 3 in 1 oil. Every store has it from hardware store to car parts shops. I lube the springs of my grippers with it and they stay rustless for months. I oil my grippers every week because it makes the close more fluid. A rusty spring will squeal. OldGuy
I scrub the grippers with "comet" using an old toothbrush. They clean up like new. Then I apply a little 3 in 1 to the spring.
Nathan Say
Don't close the grippers too fast after doing that though, all that friction will set it on fire! :0 :hehe
Sybersnott
Spray some WD-40 on an old toothbrush, and work in into the coil and outside of it. Do it gently, and you won't get any on the handle of the gripper.
