.....do any of you guys do plate curls pinching 2 or more plates together?

i was pinching 2 10's & a 5 today & just decided to start curling them. it felt good. i got 3x8 reps with either hand after pinching them for 'bout 45 seconds. the 5 in the middle slipped out on the last rep of the last set. made a cool sound when it hit the floor.

Well.... of course it made a cool sound!  ???

Any plate landing on your foot WILL make a cool sound!  :p

And the answer to your question is:  YES, that is a newbie question!  :D

Dave,

No, actually.... just be careful - add VERY careful when pinch gripping multiple plates, then curling them!  They can slip very easy, and even the smallest plates do the biggest damage when landing on your foot/toes.  Injuries are NOT fun.  :(

Why not just three 10 pound plates together??  They would be more even when you curl them.  Still... be careful, o.k.??

i was using 2 standard tens and an olympic five, so the diameter of the plates is very close but the thickness is different. i was pinching and wanted to see how different the 3 felt from a single 25, then the idea to curl just popped into my head. tomorrow i'm planning to use 3 tens. i also thought about standing wide-legged & bent at the waist like a standing concentration curl, to limit the potentional for bruised little piggies.

i am dave the safe & clever newbie ;)
