Wrist Pivots

With a plate-loaded dumbbell, I grasp the bar outside the plates and pivot the weight with one hand from the inside, over the top, to the outside and back, swapping hands on the inside.  With fixed-weight dumbbells, I hub grip the plate and pivot the weight vertically, swapping hands at the horizontal.  Has anyone done this, like or dislike this, or know another name for this exercise?
