HellMagic
I recently had an idea about how to get a heavier gripper without having to buy a new one, and today I tried it. I don't know if anyone have done this before (I tried to search the board), so I might be posting old news. Anyway, here's what I did I bought a hose clamp (13-20 mm) and wrapped it around the spring (through the hole at the top), and tightened it. I also put some paper around the spring first to prevent it from getting damaged. I drew a picture in case anything would be unclear: I must say it works great, I now have a gripper with variable resistance! The more you tighten the hose clamp, the heavier the gripper gets. I tried this on my HG250 (which I have closed with three fingers), and now I can't even get it down to 6 mm (0.25"). A cheap way of getting a "new" gripper, $1 instead of $20 Just thought I'd share my tip Cheers!
Soilworker
It is a good idea but old news. Many have thought of this. It works pretty well and is dirt cheap.
