jaccord
I'm new to bending, been bending for about 4 weeks. I finally bent a 1/4" x 6" CRS. I guess it's pretty much the equivalent to the blue nail. I used DO with leather pads. I posted a pic. I know it's not much to a lot of you, but gotta start somewhere. I bought some 1/4" round stock CRS from Orchard Supply Hardware last week and cut it to 7" lengths and bent 3 of them one workout. I still felt good, so I cut a 6" length and bent it without much problem. Then I got some more 1/4" round stock CRS from a metal supply shop a couple days later and just BARELY got a 7" piece, but couldn't get a 6" piece! I was amazed at the difference in strength between the steel from Orchard and the steel from the metal supply shop. They were supposedly both CRS. HUGE difference. Anyway, I finally bent a 6" piece of the 1/4" CRS that I got from the metal supply shop, which is much more difficult. I haven't bought any nails from Ironmind, they seem expensive compared to the metal supply shop that's close to my house. I'm going to stick with them for now. Just wanted to share my latest accomplishment. Josh

Booyah!!!
Nice bends, especially for someone just starting . Don't forget recovery.
steelbiceps
Nice -- that's off-center enough that I'd bet you could do a 5.5" piece already. You may as well start working on really full, strong crushdowns, too, since the g5's and bigger stuff will require it.
jaccord
Thanks for the kind words and advice. Bending is definitely addicting...
