Lacknotch
So my friend had ordered a set of the CoC grippers and I got to try them. I easily closed the #1 with both hands. I didn't get to try the #2 because IronMind didn't ship it to him. This was the one I was most excited to try. I could almost get the #3 to ||. I am within 2mm of closing my HG250 with my right hand (more on left hand below). At what point should I open up my HG300 and start working on it? When I can get 5 reps on the 250? I am having problems with my left hand when I go heavy on the grip stuff. My knuckles and the back of my hand get real sore and creaky feeling. When I push my fingers sideways it hurts the worst ,so when doing things like turning the steering wheel, I feel it. I have been giving it more rest than my right hand and doing contrast baths. I have some extensor bands that I use on occasion, should I step that up? Ibuprofin helps with the pain a great deal as well, but I don't think that'll help in healing. I did a search and didn't find any threads where someone was experiencing the same issues so I thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance for the advice. I have gotten alot of good information from reading the board so far, thanks for that too.
unseenbeat
I'd say step up the extensor work a little, I always feel much better the day after doing some. COngrats on your closes man, hope your training goes well.
Scott Styles
Congratulations on closing the #1. I'd expect you to get pretty close on that #2. It sounds like you need to lay off the grippers on the left hand, sticking with the hand health work until the knuckles feel better. Then ramp the gripper volume back up slowly. I'd probably do contrast baths daily, dexterity balls daily, and finger extensions every other day (assuming they don't aggravate the pain.) Thanks for the info and advice fellas. I'd like to point out also that after about 2 days the pain in my left hand subsides until I pick up a gripper again. Would that information change your advice at all?
Scott Styles
If it's not chronic, then you may be able to get away with cutting down the frequency/volume/intensity to the level where you don't get any serious pain, then slowly ramping it up. IMO hand pain is a result of doing too much too soon, or doing a movement that is not adequetly balanced by the other structures of your hand. Ivarboneless
Same problem here bro, I feel your pain. I've just been resting and contrast baths. I am going to start doing extensor stuff. The extensors hurt up until a few days ago.

I was using my left as a guide for training as I wanted it to catch up with my right. Thanks again for the advice. Same problem here bro, I feel your pain.I've just been resting and contrast baths. Teemu I
If I were you, I'd start working on that HG300 as soon as you don't have any hand pains. Try some negatives, but not too many in the beginning, just a couple of those per workout to get your hands used to the stress. Don't keep that gripper in the package
