Next Step?

So far I can get a 5 3/4 x 3/16 square rod pretty smoothly and I plan on working on volume until my technique gets better. What would the next logical step be? One progression I saw listed a 6 x 1/4 G2 bolt(of). That would be marked on the end right? The one G2 I tried was waaaay out of my league. I was just curious how some of you guys progressed.

i took 3/16'' square to 5'' then moved to 1/4'' round.

The progression Wayne suggests is perfect. If you want more exercise, try breaking some 3/16" round and square stock. It's substantially harder to break something than bend it.

Yep..microload by making that 3/16" square shorter.

I'm a bit different than you and it may be that due to my bad inflexibility I have better leverage (in comparision to most) with shorter pieces than larger. I've gone down to about 4 3/4" x 3/16" square and the same with cut TT's but still cannot kink a 7" x 1/4" round enough to crush it down, and also miss (but am really close) Grade 2 6" bolts.

If you want grade 2's I suggest Home Depot..or just ask at your hardware store to be sure. Just buy one, if you're not sure how hard it is !

.. neilkaz ..(I bent a straw today :flame )
