MARKR
Hi everyone I was thinking about getting a 2.5" revolving deadlift handle made similar to the Rolling Thunder except made totally from metal , no plastic sleeve, and it will not wear out with use Will there be any difference in training with this and a Rolling Thunder?.Will the poundages used on the all metal one be the same/similar on a Rolling thunder? Thanks
maidenfan
Depends on the surface of the metal and how easy it revolves. I have a metal 2.5" handle (with bearings) from Clay and its much harder than a RT.

Thanks the rolling thunder is easer than a solid one the plastic sleve gives a little from the weight making a slight friction not much but some i have a steel one and you can feel the difference

Sybersnott
If you want to get something that's totally steel - nothing plastic, then get "The Handle" from Weightlifter's Warehouse. I have one and like it, although it's not 2.5" I think it's 2".

I like it but it does seem to have too much friction. Sometimes I can lift a heavy weight on it and it will "stick"--and then it will "unstick"...the handle spins and the weight goes crashing down! Somewhat inconsistent for training. Haven't tried a RT, but it probably has the same kind of friction problem?
John Beatty
The CRUSHER from FBBC is all steel & has much freer rotation. If you can hit 50lbs less than you get on a RT you're doing pretty good.
