Hi everyone, just wondering the proper way to measure BBSM gripper....or any for that matter...lol....I measured mine and it seemed to be a 2.3 or 2.4cm....which is much less than the 2.75(i am assuming it's centimeters) that I saw listed for that gripper....so do I have a weak BBSM or am I measuring it wrong?

thanks

When someone gives a measurement like 2.5 or 2.9 they are not refering to the size of the spring. Instead they are giving an estimate on the difficulty of the grippler. Ironmind created grippers COC 1-4. So when someone says they "believe" the gripper is a 2.8 they mean it feels harder than a COC #2 but easier than a #3. This is just a "best estimate" as grippers do vary. It is in no way an accurate measurement. But lots of people use this language to express their feelings on how difficult a gripper is.

You were probably talking of the wire diameter of the BBSM which is 0.275" (approx 7mm).

What you measured was the coil diameter.

Hope that helps.
