deaner
Is it common for grippers to bind up a bit at the end? I just got a new Ironmind #3 and it's been closed 150 times and wd40'd twice and it still does it, it makes noise even. It's a nice looking gripper and I'd bet about a perfect 3.0 with a 3" spread, so I don't plan on sending it back.
unseenbeat
My #2 does. *SHRUG* Then again, I've never tried squirtin it with a lubricant, I'll try that, work it in a bit and let it set, and then try it and see how it is.
Klicks
My #2 used to do that, but enventually it stopped. It took a several closes though.

WD40 doesn't last long enough.
Teemu I
This seems to be one of those factors, which varies from gripper to the next. Within same brand. I have oiled my old #2 (older ones have that darker spring) only once with synthetic fluid that is used in air compressors. It's a thin oil, but effect seems to last. No annoying sounds after that. But my older #4 which I use for the negatives does make those squeeky sounds and I have to lubricate it more often. I have a pair of those new #3:s (with shiny spring). Other one does make sounds and the other one doesn't. There seems to be some slight variation, how tightly spring is coiled.
supermagnamon
I get that on most of my grippers. Mainly, on the CoC's and HGs, though.
