viper Posted March 9, 2006 Share Posted March 9, 2006 ive just searched for block weight training an it came up with it being an old school strongman training method, where its a block with a handle - i was thinking block training was pinch grip before this if it is with a handle, whats the difference between a db an a block weight?? U take a dumbell with a solid ends weather it be a hex DB or a Round DB just dont use the plate DB's and saw the handle out from the middle of the 2 ends...the ends are called heads! and use this as a pinch grip device....it works wonders....the heavier the dumbell the wider the handle and the harder it is to pick up....try doing clean and presses with them or snatches or just deadlifts for time its all good.....and for me the carry over from pinching these things is great for grippers.
