austinslater Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Travis bagent on another website said he does his close grip palms facing pullups with his wrists curled in at the top. Anyone else try these? They seem pretty tough but I can see why the would help for sure. Quote Austin Slater West Richland, Wa
verdigriz Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 like your wrist being in a contracted wrist curl position?..sounds funky Quote Try to become the type of person others do not normally encounter in this world
Darco Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 First time I've heard of this, sounds....painfull ? Quote "What I do tests my endurance. Anybody can lift a car but it's how long can you keep it raised and endure the pain" -Hugo Girard Ezekiel 23:20

austinslater Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 Here is Travis explaining it: When I do my pull-ups (hammer style) I postion the pegs in my hand (not grabing with my fingers), this forces my wrist to curl. Doing close grip half-rep pull-ups with your wrist curled is a tremdous hand and wrist workout.... I would guess that you are holding on to your opponents hand with your fingers, that is allowing your hand to open and then your wrist to flop... those pull-ups will also train your hand get comfortable holding pressure in your hand without grabing with fingers... Number Ten Ox Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Hmm, definately need to do only half reps, when I pull up all the way it forces my wrists straight. I like palms away better than palms facing however. May half to work these into the program sometime and really give them a try. Number Ten Ox Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 And by "program" I mean sporadic grip stuff whenever I feel like it.
