mindovermatter
Today was my first day i took bending serious and actually bought some metal rods. I started out with an 8 in. long 1/4 in. thick(or diameter i'm not sure) and bent it easily then i did a 7 or yellow(but hot rolled not cold rolled) then a blue nail, moving on to a 51/2 inch. I know the poundage to bend a blue is like 260 something....what would the poundage be for a 51/2 inch?

Was the Blue that you bent an actual Blue or was it a 6" piece of HRS at 1/4". If it was the HRS then it wasn't 260lbs. The 6" pieces that I have done of HRS are a tad under a Yellow (a 7" piece of CRS at 1/4"). If it was a true Blue, then the 5 and 1/2" piece would be somewhere in the 290lb-310lb range I would think.
