Roark
Tony Blinn at IFBB headquarters responded to my request for a photo of the George Jowett dumbell now in Ben Weider's collection. As it sits now, it weighs 176.10 lbs, the handle width is 4.5", the handle diameter is 2.07. Overall length is 26", sphere diameter is about 10" (9.95). If the photo is enlarged you can see the fill hole on top of the left sphere. We'll have more about the bell in the March 29th Iron History edition. http://www.cyberpump.com/gallery/GripGallery

Roark
OldGuy, Do you have any knowledge that Hepburn cleaned it with one hand? If so, please share the source. All I can find is that he used two hands to clean it. Thanks.
OldGuy
I have only seen pics of him with the bell overhead. I don't know how he got it there! In any case 2'' would be a fair bit easier than 2 3/8'' to wrap the hand around.
