arrived today-you were tright, it is in excellent condition and of course, as soon as I am done typing i will have to take it outside and see how heavy I can go :D

I also discovered what you did with all your old piled up newspaper  :p  :p  :p  :p

That is going to be one heck of a fire starter-

Guest bunkbunk

I wanted to make sure it arrived in PERFECT condition so I had TONS of newspaper and foam to protect that baby! It was my baby first ya know. :) :)

Glad it got there in one piece.

Remember, it is about a 4.3 to 1 ratio so 100 pounds would be about 430 in-lbs fully closed.

Whoops. Bunkbunk was a test username I just used since someone emailed me they could not get into the board. The registration obviously is working.

I was logged in after running the test under bunkbunk. :)

It was just funny as heck to see all that news paper flying through the air.  I felt like the dad on "The Christmas Story" searching for his great prize :D !

Yes, it is extremely hard.  I put 50 pounds on and was stunned as I had to bust a nut to get it!!!  I then put 100 on and did some holds.  No problem holding 100 shut, I just can't budge it with one hand closed ???

Which is better-timed closed holds with heavy weight or actually using weight to squeeze it shut?  I feel like such a puss with this thing.

Timed  holds.

Or just, try and hold and let out as best you can.

100lbs in a total hold is excellent by the way.

You should be close to closing a 3.

Load that puppy up and see what makes your hand open up. :)

That's how I typically used it -- in that range of only a few seconds and my hand opened up.

It really gets you used to a LOT of pressure such that the grippers (with the exception of the 4) don't feel nasty.  And, you don't have to bust a gut to cheat something shut with that high of a pressure (gripper that is).

Oh yeah, make sure you don't torque your wrist to cheat.

Also, it was the key piece for me as I saw in my training log how my closures gained with the grippers as I went up in weight with the Atlas. I had dropped it on and off and once I correlated that, I kept it in consistently several times per week.  Then, the 3 went down. No sheet. :)

I am very close to the #3-less then half an inch.  You used the atlas several times a week??

I am just trying to get a feel on how to use it and incorporate it into my workouts.
